It rained all night at Lake Koocanusa (hehe), and it rained all morning too. I tried to wait it out, but by 11:00 it was still pretty steady, so I hopped out and packed up in the rain. Basically, all my stuff stayed dry, but my tent got soaked (rain fly and tent). I did stay in the tent long enough to make some more PB&J sandwiches, which served as both breakfast and lunch, and somewhere during that span, they lost their charm.
It rained for the first few hours while I rode along the lake, but otherwise the road was great for cycling -- great views and mild climbs. Got a bit chilly, though.

I also enjoyed a weird riding-through-the-clouds feeling, which felt oddly out-of-place at 4000 feet above sea level. There were five (5) hyphens in that last sentence, for those of you scoring at home.

The rain stopped sometime in the early afternoon, but I kept the rain gear on because of the chilly temperatures and the heavy traffic, which sprayed me with dirty water as I rode. I stopped at a private campground for a hot meal, but the cafe was closed. I ate a PB&J. Yummy. I also swapped cold-weather gear for my rain suit.
The day cleared up nicely as I pedaled to Libby Dam, which wasn't nearly as impressive as its name sounds. From there it was downhill along the Kookenai River (Kookenai. Koocanusa. HAHAHAHA). I set my tent out to dry in Libby, where I stopped for the night. I had a hamburger. Having had at least 1,000 burgers on this trip = acceptable. PB&J three meals in a row = asstastic. Go figure.
